Careers 1

Grow your career

We invest in our employees and set a standard of excellence for green industry careers through competitive pay, benefits and a unified team culture. We are a workplace that rewards initiative, including chances to help build and shape your role and the company over time.

We’re always learning and improving from the latest standards and science, our colleagues and each other. Our experienced staff acts as mentors to develop future arborists and green industry leaders.

Employees love our in-house training program and annual allowance for education. We can assist with gaining certifications and credentials and opportunities to attend regional and national conferences.

A day in the life

We start our mornings early at our yard in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where we promptly kick things off with a morning meeting, review the day’s work orders and load gear onto our vans and trucks before dispersing to jobs throughout NYC.

No two days are the same, and we collaborate to source solutions and work safely and efficiently. Our crews work in four-seasons weather conditions, and our job sites range from backyards, rooftops and terraces to city sidewalks, courtyards, campuses and parks.

Care for community

Because our work is often hazardous and physically demanding, teamwork is made possible by cultivating safety and trust. We look out for each other while sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

We work in service of our clients, many of whom have yearslong relationships with Arborpolitan. Clients value our open exchange of knowledge, friendly professionalism and the results of our services.

As a small business, we value our relationship to our NYC communities and the wider urban ecosystem. From volunteer days to sustainability initiatives, we look for ways to “be the change.”

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We seek to cultivate a diverse team that reflects our diverse city whenever possible. Because arboriculture is a traditionally white, male, young, able-bodied industry, we encourage everyone to apply, and feel the need to especially extend this invitation to anyone who does not fit this homogenous mold. We have adopted Green 2.0’s pay equity pledge to ensure fair and balanced compensation across our workforce, and are committed to seeking feedback from all employees in order to be a great place to work.
