A day in the life
We start our mornings early at our yard in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where we promptly kick things off with a morning meeting, review the day’s work orders and load gear onto our vans and trucks before dispersing to jobs throughout NYC.
No two days are the same, and we collaborate to source solutions and work safely and efficiently. Our crews work in four-seasons weather conditions, and our job sites range from backyards, rooftops and terraces to city sidewalks, courtyards, campuses and parks.

Because our work is often hazardous and physically demanding, teamwork is made possible by cultivating safety and trust. We look out for each other while sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

General requirements
While each role varies, here’s what we generally expect:
- You have a positive attitude and communication style, enjoy teamwork, are an adaptable problem-solver, with enthusiasm to step up and contribute to our workflow.
- You possess a genuine interest in arboriculture, a willingness to continue learning and applying technical skills and best practices, and are open to feedback.
- You are physically able to handle the physical demands of fieldwork (able to lift 50+ pounds) and prepared to work in all weather conditions.
- You have at least some (or even a lot) of prior experience in horticulture, agriculture or arboriculture, such as coursework, previous employment, knowledge of tree & plant ID, experience with chainsaw/chipper, etc.
- You are punctual and show up ready to work with a professional appearance.
- You provide excellent customer service and are comfortable speaking with clients.
- You have a valid driver’s license, plus experience driving a van and truck throughout NYC or willingness to learn.
- You have proof of your Covid vaccination/boosters.
